Terms of use
Last updated: October 1, 2026
These terms govern your use of getdropdown.app and of Drop Down, the menu bar app for the Mac (“the app”). Both are made and operated by Ah Yasin, an independent software developer based in Türkiye (“we”, “us”). By using the website or the app, you agree to these terms.
The website
You may browse this website for personal, non-commercial purposes. Its content (the text, the pictures, the name and the icon) belongs to us and may not be copied or reused without permission.
Early Access
Every version of Drop Down before 1.0 is Early Access. The app works and is updated often, and on the way to 1.0 its features may still change; the release notes say what each version changes. If you buy Pro during Early Access, it stays Pro at 1.0 and after: the higher price from 1.0 does not apply to you.
Drop Down Basic
Basic is free: you can use Drop Down without paying, without an account and without a time limit. What Basic includes stays free. Pro adds the options marked Pro in the pricing section.
Buying Pro
Drop Down Pro is sold through Polar Software Inc., which acts as our merchant of record: Polar runs the checkout, takes the payment, charges the sales tax or VAT that applies where you live, and issues your receipt and invoice. Polar’s buyer terms apply to the purchase itself; your license to use Drop Down Pro comes from us, under these terms.
Pro is a one-time purchase, updates included. It does not renew, and there is no subscription. Supporter is the same Pro on more Macs, and a way to support Drop Down’s development. Prices are in US dollars, as the pricing section and the checkout show them on the day you buy.
You buy Pro for the options it has on the day you buy. When new options join Pro later, you get them at no extra charge, but we do not promise particular features, or when they will come.
Your license
When you buy Pro, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Drop Down Pro on up to 3 Macs at a time, or up to 6 with Supporter, activated with the license key Polar emails you. Each Mac where you activate the key, and each user account on a Mac, takes one of its places. Choosing Deactivate This Mac… in Settings › License, or freeing that Mac in Polar’s customer portal, gives the place back, so you can move Pro to another Mac.
You may not share, resell or publish your key, and you may not get around the license check or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law expressly allows it. A license whose purchase is refunded or charged back is revoked.
License checks
Drop Down checks your license with Polar when you activate it and then about once a day. If it cannot reach Polar for 30 days, Pro pauses until the next successful check; Basic and your settings keep working, and your Pro choices are kept. The privacy policy lists exactly what a check sends.
macOS updates
Drop Down relies on how macOS manages the menu bar. If a macOS update changes that, the app keeps its hiding off and says so, rather than guess, until an update of Drop Down adapts to the change. We work to adapt quickly, but we cannot promise that every future version of macOS will be supported, or by when.
Refunds
Refunds are set out in the refund policy. Basic is free with no time limit, so you can try Drop Down on your Mac before you buy. Within 14 days of the purchase, you can have a full refund when Pro does not work on your Mac, does not do what this website describes, or your Mac cannot run Drop Down; a change of mind about Pro that works as described is not covered. Duplicate purchases are always refunded, a key that never arrived is resent or refunded, and a refund or withdrawal right the law gives you applies in full and comes first. You can ask through the refund request form or by writing to hello@getdropdown.app, and the refund policy explains what happens after.
No warranty, and the limits of our liability
We build Drop Down with care, but we provide the app and this website “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that they are free of errors, that they suit your purpose or that they will always be available.
To the same extent, our total liability for any claim about the app or this website is limited to the amount you paid for Drop Down Pro (nothing, if you use only Basic), and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost data. None of this limits a liability the law does not allow to be limited, or the rights that mandatory consumer law gives you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country you live in still apply to you.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. A change never takes away a license you have already bought.
